So we’re back from the Tet Offensive at Skirmish USA.

Playing as the VC, we did have some setbacks from the get go.  The Americans held all of the flag stations, and there were rumors spreading that we were also outnumbered in the registration.  But that didn’t stop us.

It was the last command for a while of our buddy Pete “Cookie Monster” Murphy.  And it was a good one.  Along with his command staff, our fighter plane, and tank, we were able to push back against the constant flux of American invasions, and, through a very close score seized the day.

Tet was the first game we played that was done by SOV, and hopefully they’ll run more in the future.

‘Til next time.

Returned from Oz

Posted: June 2, 2013 in Uncategorized

So this weekend we were out shooting paint with folks over at Poco Loco.  As you all know this is one of our favorites mainly because we don’t get boulders anywhere near our local fields.

The weather was sunny but mid 90s which did, unfortunately, slow us down, but it didn’t stop us.  We were out shooting tanks, running missions,  prop hunting…you name it we were probably involved in it.

Battle for Oz was the first game we played with 4 third entities.  One of which was the Tin Man as a tank which was constructed really great.  First half of the day was fun, albeit with a few hiccups, but it was all good.  The heat started to really take it’s toll by the end.  Our base ref, Tony, was the best friend a player could have out there handing out a seemingly endless supply of water.  The refs did a great job staying on top of everything and every so often you even saw the field owner out there amid the firefights searching for another great shot of everyone playing out there.

Til next time.

So we’re back from our first full team game of the seaon.  This game was put on by our good friends on Hellkatz.  We played for the Blues Brothers, commanded by Grimace of ISH/MBOB.

All in all it was another great game.  Weather was almost perfect (despite the short rain delay we had), good group of people to shoot with and against, saw our friends out, made some new ones on the opposing team, and did what we do best.  Were we blue or red?  😉

Next on our schedule is playing at Poco Loco in June.  Hope to see you all out there.

Til next time…

Well the gear is packed, the van is setup and gassed, we’re all set.  Just hoping the weather holds out for tomorrow.  See you all on field.

Thing III: The Isle of Man

Posted: March 8, 2013 in Uncategorized

This post is a little late, but things, as usual, have been busy for us.

February 23 marked two things for us this year.  1) It kicked off our 2013 season with a phenomenal game and 2) it ended an era in scenario paintball.  It was the last game put on by our good friends over at G-Force Productions.

As usual it delivered.  There was suspense, impossible missions, constant distrust and suspicions, great paintball, and overall good time.  I was running with Ish being the 4th entity whose soul purpose was to stop the thing.  We had started a man down (of course the only inoculated man) and half our gear wasn’t working, but that didn’t stop us.  We were hunted by everyone for the first few hours while we tried to get both sides to work together to stop the thing.

Sanders and his brother spent the day in the snow attached at the hip, remembering the pitfalls from Thing II.

When all was said and done, it was the second closest score in G-Force history with the US winning by 6 points.  And the 4th entity did better than we thought.  We got 20 points out of our 24 to succeed.  So not bad after all.

There was the emotional farewell, description of upcoming games from the successors, and everyone getting together for food at Murphey’s Loft.

Here’s Jpazz’s words of farewell from titled “It was a good run”:

“I was going to create its own thread for this, but I’m not that kind of person, so I said, eh, put it here.

5.5 years, and 11 games later.

Arh and I produced out first scenario in 2007. And it kept growing from there.

Paint the World was when I first really met The Mob, and Grazi and others.

At Biowars I met Infamous and others.

X7 I met Box and we all met Hurricane Hannah.

And the pool of friends kept growing.

Through the years we wanted to write original stuff, intriguing stories, and unique universes. You guys let us by supporting us no matter what role you were in when you supported us.

Skirmish staffers

We thank you all for all the support over the years. We enjoyed every aspect of it and have zero regrets.

I will see you all at other scenarios and events.

Thank you for 5 and a half years of good times.

I must still be suffering from exhaustion…It’s been more than a good run, it’s been a GREAT run with you all guys

Til next time..

Just want to take a moment this holiday season to congratulate co-captain Matt “SWAT” Guasco on his engagement this year’s Thanksgiving weekend.

Back from Spat-o-ween!

Had a great time out.  The weather held.  It was great to see so many new faces on the field.  Here’s a message from the general:

To everyone who played Splat-O-Ween this past Sunday: Thank you so much for a great time and I hope you had as much fun as I did!  I am definitely looking forward to next year all because of you folks!

Alex, you and your entire side were very worthy opponents, making me think on my toes at every twist and turn.  Keep up the excellent work!

Mario, it was Halloween, you should have been the pope.  🙂

To my side: You guys were insane (and, coming from me, that is a compliment)!  From that desperate defense at the base right before lunch to the sweeping push near the end of the day, not once did you ever let me down.  From missions to field control, I couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of fighters than you!

Jenn, thanks for putting up with me as usual.  🙂

To Pete The Game Coordinator and the rest of Exiled Souls, thank you for a great day out and for being diligent scenario refs.  Your communication with each other throughout the day made for one of the smoothest running games I’ve ever played (let alone commanded)!  Top notch work and I look forward to seeing what you have to offer in the future.

Sorry it took so long to write this up but the power is out around here (thank goodness the weather held out long enough to get the game off without a hitch)!
